Privacy

TaxKiln does not collect your personal information. No cookies, no tracking pixels, no email capture, no user accounts, no session recording. The site is free to read, and you are not the product.
What we don't do
- No cookies (no cookie consent banner needed). - No tracking pixels, advertising tags, or third-party analytics scripts. - No email capture, newsletter, or mailing list. - No login, registration, or user accounts. - No session recording, heatmaps, or behavioural profiling. - No selling, sharing, or trading of any personal information — because we collect none to sell.
What we do
- Our prerender layer serves cached HTML to search engine and AI bots — this involves bot user-agent detection, not personal data. - Calculator inputs run entirely in your browser — nothing is transmitted to our servers. - State and filing-status selections may be stored in your browser's localStorage for convenience — we never see them. - Standard web-server logs (IP, request path, timestamp, user-agent) are retained briefly for security and abuse prevention, then discarded. They are not joined to any other dataset.
US state privacy laws — CCPA/CPRA, VCDPA, CTDPA, CDPA, UCPA
Because TaxKiln does not collect, sell, or share personal information, the disclosure and opt-out machinery imposed by these laws produces an empty result, but the rights still apply: - **California — CCPA/CPRA.** California residents have the right to know, delete, correct, opt out of sale/sharing, and limit use of sensitive personal information. We collect no personal information, do not sell or share it, and use no sensitive personal information. - **Virginia — VCDPA.** Virginia residents have rights to access, correct, delete, port, and opt out of targeted advertising, sale, and profiling. We perform none of those processing activities. - **Connecticut — CTDPA.** Same substantive rights as VCDPA. Same answer: none of those processing activities occur. - **Colorado — CDPA.** Same substantive rights and the Colorado Universal Opt-Out Mechanism. We honour it automatically because there is nothing to opt out of. - **Utah — UCPA.** Right to access and delete; right to opt out of sale and targeted advertising. We collect nothing to access, delete, sell, or target. If you believe we hold data about you and want it deleted, email hello@kilnguides.co.uk; we will confirm the empty record.
